My mom likes to tell me that it's not so much how long my call is but how often I call that counts. However, as you know, every time you call home you end up using the entire calling card. Not only that, it takes about an hour to get through, an hour to talk and catch up. Who has the time? It's hard enough making it to my second job on time. Now you can see why I tend to put off calling. Anybody would! Besides, I can't afford to use up the whole $10 calling card every time I call home. That's why the best thing that happened to me and my family this year was finding a way to send SMS messages almost for free! Let me explain. Last month I sent an SMS everyday from my computer (I personally find it Impossible and Annoying to type on those tiny cell phones) to mom, my sister and brother abroad and it cost me only $10! I don’t care how broke you are but for me that's as good as free. Not only that, I don’t have a cell phone but they can send me SMS messages which I receive as email.
